The Classic Car Club of Manhattan is home to some of the most amazing cars ever built, but they're not always the main attraction. Last Wednesday night, stunners like the '65 Shelby Cobra took a backseat while car enthusiasts got up close and personal with Gran Turismo 6 and the man who brought it to life, Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi.
The Jalopnik Film Festival's opening night party featured a panel with Kaz, as well as filmmaker Tamir Mosovici, whose upcoming documentary focuses on the Gran Turismo legacy (watch the trailer here). The documentary is just one way PlayStation is celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of Gran Turismo, though. A program called Vision Gran Turismo invited automakers, design houses, and leading brands — 22 of them — to create their ideal Gran Turismo vehicle, and the resulting car designs were incorporated into GT6. For the first time, the cars in the game can only be driven on virtual concourses, not in real life.
